Strategyn Management Group (SMG):

Headquartered in Dallas, TX, Strategyn Management Group was formed in 2015 by Mr. David Potenza, after a highly successful career in both the public and private sector. SMG infuses over 35 years of senior management experience and relationships in healthcare, marketing and finance into ever project. We provide the necessary guidance , support, direction and hard work needed in moving an innovative product or service into a formal company ready to take on investors and properly manage accelerated growth.
 

Our primary focus is on emerging, early/mid-phase MedTech companies looking for accelerated growth strategies and those seeking help in establishing corporate governance, investor strategies, business development and capital.
 

What we have found, is more often than not, these companies find themselves ill prepared to attract investors, or even cornerstone customers, due to their lack of internal structuring, market presence and poorly developed financials and business planning. Most often, they also lack the appropriate funding needed to hire talented, full-time senior leadership yet desperately need the help and guidance in establishing a well-defined corporate governance along with sound strategic planning.
 

In addition to leadership, much of our focus is on business development and strategy. Being part of several public and private companies helps us lead our clients in structuring their organization for rapid growth and market adoption. In addition, we can also provide access to capital, budgeting and through our partners we offer guidance on legal compliance, payer contracting, revenue cycle and hospital credentialing.
 

Our clients have spanned a diverse range including devices, diagnostics, laboratory sciences, advanced imaging diagnostics, remote patient monitoring, Telehealth and several ancillary medical services like CBD and opioid avoidance technologies and strategies in pain management.

Leveraging over 30 years of senior leadership experience in the healthcare sector, Mr. Potenza is the President & CEO of Strategyn Management Group (SMG), a Texas based, privately held “HealthTech” consulting firm. SMG provides early to mid-phase providers, and emerging technology developers, the senior management experience, organizational resources, market intelligence and access to capital markets needed for rapid growth, market adoption and possible acquisition.  

Prior to heading his own firm, Mr. Potenza resigned from a combined 11-year career as Vice President of Healthcare Economics at Kimberly Clark Healthcare (KCH), and an incumbent position as Zone Vice President of I-Flow Corp, which was acquired by KCH in a highly profitable transaction. Mr. Potenza also enjoyed 10-yrs of senior business development/leadership position(s) at Baxter Healthcare and served as Senior/Executive Vice President at three early and mid-phase start-ups that would be acquired in private transactions. All total, Mr. Potenza has been involved in over $1-billion in equity buy-out transactions.  

Mr. Potenza did his under-graduate studies at Ithaca College in upstate NY, where he studied Business Management, competed on a national championship football team, and completed course work at Cornell University. He completed his post-graduate executive education studies at Southern Methodist University's Cox School of Business and additional course work from Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. He is certified in Six-Sigma and LEAN (SSLP), a student of Deming (CQI), is married and a father of two boys, and contributes his time and resources by sitting on several corporate, charity and community boards and organizations.
